Learning with meaning
Examples, pictures and practice help children connect language to what it communicates.
Qurbah brings together Arabic learning, family support and purposeful digital learning, with closeness to Allah at the heart of its purpose.
Ustadh Zen Mahmood is a father and teacher who has studied and taught Arabic and the Islamic sciences. In his introduction to the Qurbah Arabic books, he describes the gap that prompted the project: children can learn to read Arabic without necessarily understanding what they read.
He wanted an approach suited to children: structured language learning, meaningful practice and a story they could follow. Practical support for parents is part of that approach.
The Arabic book package, the developing app and the free library offer different ways for families to begin.
